Grandparents and their cookies...
cookies are not evil but rebellion is. How many grandparents are in submission to the Lord? How many parents struggle daily to walk the narrow path only to have cookies shoved down their children's throats by well meaning grandparents? "It's just a cookie hunny, you need to lighten up!" All the while heavy sighing and rolling their eyes.
Oh, my God, humble me. Please help me not to consider sin as "just one cookie", just one little indulgence that can be over looked or lightened up about. Help Your people, who call themselves by Your name come under Your banner to know the difference between right and wrong and not be so tangled up in our own little sins that we can't see sin for what it is.
Food, sex, work ethic, prayer, speech, whatever. Let us submit ourselves to You, fill us with the ability to know the Good and love the Good, to strive after it and to hate the things that would seek to enslave us.
Proverbs 1:10
My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.
Pr 1:23 "Turn to my reproof; Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.
Do we think that He will pour out His spirit on us if we do not turn to His reproof? That would be rediculous! He goes on to say in vs. 26 that He will laugh at our calamity and mock when dread comes. I think that we had better heed His reproof.
Psalm 119: 45
And I will walk at liberty, For I seek your precepts.
and
Psalm 119: 47
I shall delight in Your commandments, Which I love.
Lord Praise your name through Your blessed Son Jesus! Conform me to His image for Your Glory! May Your name be praised!
In His name I ask these things.

Another Day, More Mercy
This day of fretting, this day of worry, just another day wasted.
Gracious God of Heaven, Father of Truth and Life,
THANK YOU, thank you
Shore up this little heart, remind me of Thy great works, of THY GREATNESS, still me with Your Word.
Amen.
